"Let's Use Natural Fertilizer" Wins the Radio Drama Contest! |

The radio drama entitled "Let's Use Natural Fertilizer" written by Im Rachny has won the first prize of the Radio Drama Contest sponsored by the Cambodian Center for Independent Media (CCIM) with fund support from the Bilateral Programme Fund of the British Embassy. The judging and announcement of winners was held on June 11, 2009 in a Conference on Granting Reward to Write a Short Story Related to Climate Change at the Imperial Garden Village and Hotels, Phnom Penh. Im Rachny's drama is one of the ten shorlisted radio drama script entries produced radio dramas and aired over Radio Sarika FM 106.5 in Phnom Penh and Radio Sarika Angkor95.5 in Siem Reap, both operated by CCIM, during the radio program "Earth Talk" broadcast from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. every Wednesday and replayed during the "Green Life" program of Radio Sarika FM 106.5 from Monday to Friday 4:00 to 5:00 p.m. |

Radio Drama Writing on Climate Change |

Around 80 young participants from various organizations such as Youth Council of Cambodia (YCC), Khmer Youth Association (KYA), and Royal University of Phnom Penh (RUPP) joined the radio drama writing contest on climate change held last December 23, 2008 at World Vision Training Center, Phnom Penh. The opening of the training was attended by the British Ambassador to Cambodia and officials from the Ministry of Environment. His Excellency Andrew Mace, British Ambassador to Cambodia, presented his opening speech during the training. He said that he is “delighted that the British Embassy has been able to support CCIM's work to build public understanding of climate change in Cambodia, and I would like to thank them for their work in organizing this meeting today.” |
